Who We Are
The Heaven-on-Earth Project (HOEP) was launched as a reading program in 2010 under the leadership of Campher Serfontein. Back then there were 15 learners who received support to improve their basic reading skills. Through the grace of
our Almighty God, the project has since grown to where almost 3 100 learners in
111 crèches currently benefit!! Over the years HOEP grew to one core direction:
School readiness!

HOEP developed its own exciting Early remedial intervention program for learners aged 4- to 6 years and accompanying workbooks to put these young learners in the starting blocks for successful school careers!
The workbooks are combined with teacher’s guides, weekly training sessions for the educators or caretakers presenting the program, a process of quality control and measuring of results.
HOEP’s Early intervention program has been implemented with great success in 111 schools across the Western Cape and is constantly expanding.
A results-driven project!
In 2023, the learners from four schools on the HOEP program were assessed by external assessors in the beginning of the year. The same groups were tested again in November of the same year to determine if any growth in relation to school readiness took place during the eight months since March. We are delighted to share the following results with you:
Most Recent Results >>>

Most of the learners who were assessed received HOEP intervention in their grade R year as well. From previous external measurements, we could see the difference between the results of créches that followed the HOEP program versus créches that were not on the program at the time of testing.
